Magalu - Mobile stockist App
Mobile stockist makes a management of incoming and departing products that enter and leave the stock of Mini CDs (Distribution´s center).
In this app, I served as the UX/UI Designer for three squads, each focusing on different features of the application. Below, you can explore the development process for the storage feature.
Problem Statement
The current goods storage system lacks automation, resulting in decreased operational efficiency, increased errors, and reduced productivity.
Discover
Observing users who work with goods storage and with an interviewing, we identified their main pain points and opportunities for improvement.
Challenge:
- Difficulty locating in the storage the right place for storing received products from the distribution center.
The users are Magazine Luiza (Magalu) employees. We decided to go to the store and spend some days with them to hear the user's pains and follow the current journey of storage products. We talked with five users in two different stores.
Pain Points:
- Without automation, the entire process becomes time-consuming as employees must manually search for the correct shelf to store the products, leading to significant time wastage.
- Due to the shift over of employees, certain products are stored indifferent locations, making it difficult for someone who is unfamiliar with it.
- Storing the same product in different places without proper tracking.
- Difficulty searching for products to move from storage to floor store and vice versa.
Define
The persona has been identified, and now we developed the current scenario/to be scenario to improve the experience.

Develop
To create a systematic storage mapping by transforming the corridors into streets and assigning address names to shelves with barcodes, enabling accurate product placement. Conducting an inventory to assign these new tags to the respective products and integrate them into the system. Additionally, developing a user-friendly app that utilizes barcode scanning technology to guide users to the correct storage location based on the product code.
Opportunity exists to integrate additional functionalities, such as transferring products between stores, moving products from storage to the store floor, and returning damaged products to the distribution center.
Validation test and usability test
Validation and usability tests have played an essential role in gathering direct feedback, identifying issues, validating solutions, and improving the user experience. These tests have resulted in a more effective, enhanced, and user-aligned app.To conduct these tests, I went to the store with the developers, which was crucial for a better understanding of what needed improvement.
Deliver
Search, storage, movement and drop.
The product addressing functionality simplifies the process by allowing users to find rapidly and address the number of products to the correct location with just two clicks. Additionally, our system enables smooth control and management of product movement, whether it's from the stock to the sales room or vice versa. We also facilitate product transfers, streamlining the flow of items from one another branch or sector of damage. With these features in place, our solution optimizes stock operations and enhances overall efficiency in managing inventory.
